I recently purchased my own copy of this book. I had read the previous Duggar book, 20 and Counting, and we also enjoy their weekly TV show on TLC. I am very inspired by everything the Duggars stand for.
(In case you're one of the few who don't know the Duggars, they are a couple with 19 children who live debt-free, homeschool, and just shine with God's love. Oh, and all of their children's names start with J.)
One of my favorite aspects of the Duggars is Michelle's soft, sweet voice and the way she deals with NINETEEN children with such a gracious spirit and a smile on her face. I'm not assuming that it's this way 365 days a year/7 days a week, but it's very evident that she has a sweet spirit and mothers her children with lots of love. When I start to get frazzled and upset during my day, I often think about Michelle Duggar and say, "I can do this!"
In this book, Jim Bob and Michelle share a lot of the how and why of their lifestyle. Some of my favorite parts include:
Jim Bob's lifelong hobby
How they deal with "shy" kids
Training their kids to be entrepreneurs
Dating and courtship
Keeping the kids on their toes
They are bold when it comes to their Christianity and very human in the way they present their beliefs and traditions, never "preaching," but instead sharing the path God has chosen for them.
I highly recommend this book. If you decide you need this book, I'd appreciate it if you purchased through the link above. : )
