In our part of Texas, snow is rare and wonderful. Therefore, it's reason enough to make snow ice cream!
This week, temps are hovering in the teens, so the snow isn't going anywhere! So far, we've made 2 batches of ice cream.
Here's how we do it:
Send one of your brave children out to collect some clean snow. Stay away from cat paw prints. No dirt collected from the surface of the minivan. No yellow snow. : )
Assemble your ingredients: Milk, sugar, and vanilla.
We put some snow in a large mixing bowl, add about 1 cup of sugar, 2 cups of milk, and a teaspoon of vanilla. Mix well and serve.
Enjoy!
The kids like to add choclate syrup to theirs. We've also made it with peppermint extract.
Yum!
Personally, ice cream on the coldest day in history doesn't appeal to me, but I like to let my kids have fun!
