Valentine's Decor

34

I love holiday decorating, and for a couple of years now I've had this great plan to decorate for each season or holiday throughout the year. However, I wasn't organized enough to pull it off, except at Christmas and Thanksgiving.

But this year, I decided it would happen. It's all part of homemaking, and the whole family enjoys a new look.

There are fun blog parties that showcase holiday and seasonal mantle decor, and they inspired me to really do it this year. The problem is, I don't have a mantle. But I do have a gi-nor-mous TV cabinet with a low, flat top that serves as a mantle. That's what I'm decorating.

My goal in these decorations is to to spend little or nothing by shopping my own house and storage area to see what I have in the seasonal colors and themes. This challenge makes it even more fun!

So, without further ado, I present my Valentine's Day decor:

The colors I chose are pink and brown, because I had some ribbons all tangled up in a drawer in just those colors, and they inspired me! I'm not a pink person, so the shopping was harder.

I did purchase the candy with coordinating wrappers. What's Valentine's Day without a little chocolate, right? Am I right? Hello???

The large dress form is mine, and the small pink one belongs to my daughter Chloe. She has a wealth of pink stuff that I looked over before choosing. I aspire to collect dress forms, but they are either A) hard to find, or B) very expensive. I won't give up!

I made this with a little digi-scrapping from 1 Corinthians 13 and slipped it in a pretty frame. Viola!

I'm happy with the results, and I look forward to the next project. Hmmm, maybe Spring, maybe a birthday theme for my soon to be 3-year-old, or St. Patrick's day. We'll see!
