Socialized Medicine: T Minus 24 hours

The Democrats in Congress are set to "vote" on the health care bill on Sunday. I say "vote" very loosely because A) they don't have the votes right now, and B) they are willing to pass it without a vote and send it straight to the President anyway.

Does that sound weird to you? It should, because it's unconstitutional.

It's so simple. Americans elect a representative to vote and make decisions for them, based on their wishes. Said representative votes according to his constituents' majority opinion. Said representative (a good one, anyway) does NOT vote with the President because he was promised a cushy federal job, or vote against his people because he was able to acquire more federal funding for his state's programs.

This bill is so dangerous, and the democrats don't have the votes, or they wouldn't be playing all these games to try to push it through. They'd simply vote. But it's an important clog in the wheel of socialistic takeover, and they really need it to pass in order to open the door for more similar programs. And Congress is notorious for including all kinds of non-related stuff into these big bills.

Here's what people are saying about it:

Representative Boustany (R) from Louisiana said: The IRS provision in the bill "dangerously expands, in an ominous way the tentacles of the IRS and its reach into every American family."

Mitch McConnell said, "This is the most abortion-expansive piece of legislation ever to reach the floor of the House of Representatives."

In a letter written to the President and the Congress, more than 130 economists "predicted the legislation would discourage companies from hiring more workers and would cause reduced hours and wages for those already employed."

This is great stimulus for the economy, huh?

Many democrats who stood against the bill for so long have suddenly changed their minds. The important question to ask is: Why? What was promised to them in private? If you aren't sure which way your Representative is voting, click here for an up-to-date list of every member of the House of Representatives.

If they are for it, ask them why.

It's not to late to stop this massive bill. It is nothing more than socialized medicine. And it is un-American.
