03Here we are, still talking about health care. President Obama doesn't seem to listen to the American people. Universal, taxpayer funded, government-mandated health care is becoming more unpopular by the day, yet Obama insists on ramming it through.
This is tyranny.
Tyranny hasn't changed much in the last 200+ years. It's still "oppressive power exerted by government." Pushing health care through is the same kind of tyranny that the American colonists faced from King George in the late 18th century.
How?
All versions of the health care bill require you to purchase insurance coverage:
The House bill "Requires individuals to purchase insurance or pay a penalty of 2.5% of income."
The Senate bill "Requires individuals to purchase insurance or pay a penalty that would be the greater of $750 or 2% of income by 2016."
Never mind that the majority of Americans don't want universal health care. Never mind that we would be required to pay for and carry something that we don't want. Never mind that there is no such thing as a "right to health care" as the President likes to claim. Never mind that this could be political suicide for Obama and all congressional Democrats.
Whether the issue is health care or independence, taxing a people to pay for what they do not want is tyranny.
If we pass this legislation, it will be the beginning of the end of our freedoms. We will virtually undo everything our founding fathers worked so hard to achieve.
For now, forget about all the mind-numbing details in the bills, outlining who is covered, what is not covered, how much debt we will be in, and who makes our medical decisions for us.
The basic threat to our freedom is this: government can not make us buy health insurance. Passing a monstrous bill that requires anything from us is unconstitutional.
Don't let this happen. It is a serious threat to everything that makes America great. No matter what state you live in, please call all of your representatives in Congress and tell them to stop health care "reform." Call the White House at 202-456-1111 and tell the President to listen to America and drop this bill now.
Our founders knew all about tyranny. They told us what to look for. It happens slowly, in almost unrecognizable steps. Don't let tyranny get it's foot in the door.
"Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedoms of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." - James Madison
"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for men of good conscience to remain silent." - Thomas Jefferson
