Government

34

Our President has only been in office a little over two weeks, and he has wasted no time advancing his liberal, socialist agenda. This last week he put forth the following nonsense:

"...now is not a time for profits..." yet somehow he plans to create more jobs. How? Don't companies hire because business is good? If they aren't making profits, layoffs happen. Now, I know I'm not the President, but this is just plain common sense.

He also passed the SCHIP legislation, providing healthcare for all American children. Sounds good, right? Who wouldn't want help paying for the cost of medical care? But this is just the first step in his massive plan for government handouts. What is next? How about free healthcare for all Americans. Still sounds good. But where does it stop?

Why are government handouts so bad? Think about it this way: how many successful people do you know who started out on welfare? The rich and successful that I know got where they are by working for what they have, and working hard. They didn't sit around hoping that someone would help them. They didn't ask for a handout. They worked, saved, worked some more, invested, and kept on working. Too many people who receive a handout want to keep it coming, instead of using it as leverage to improve their situation.

Is there freedom in welfare? Isn't this great country all about freedom?

Let's keep the government out of the business of charity, and let charity organizations do it.

Let's let business run business. Let's let them make a profit and hire new workers. Let's let business stimulate the economy.

Let's keep an eye on our government. They work for us. It's time we were in charge.

"It does not take a majority to prevail...but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." -Samuel Adams
